AskPatty in Second Life Featured in American Express Small Business Machinima Video - Just Released!
Check out this informative video -- featuring our very own President, Jody DeVere, and our virtual venue at Second Life -- that was just posted at the Amerian Express Open Forums: "Understanding Virtual Marketplaces: A View of Your Small Business in the Virtual World."
In an attempt to help small business owners transition to a digital world, American Express -- a company that has been serving small businesses for more than 20 years -- has created openforum.com, a website focused on networking, ideas and expertise for business owners. Still in beta, OPEN® provides products and services such as videos, articles, and expert blogs, designed to help businesses grow.
Content tabs offer choices from articles & resources, discussion boards, small business stories, an event center, membership directory, and much more. They've gathered content from some of the best resources on the web, and give their members the opportunity to rate it, comment on it, and share it with other professional colleagues.
This particular video series is intended to assist small businesses entering the digital world. According to American Express, in just the past 24 months there has been a significant increase in the number of small business owners starting new business ventures in virtual worlds. These virtual worlds offer a unique opportunity to interact one-on-one with customers and learn more about their preferences and needs. AmEx says "The way you market your goods and services in the virtual world can change the way consumers view your goods and services in the real world."
