Seat Belt Purses -- Fashion for the Car Girl
The Harveys, husband and wife, Dana and Melanie, came
up with the idea for The Original Seatbeltbag while installing
seatbelts into their 1950 Buick. When the job was completed they found
themselves with a lot of leftover seatbelts. "What shall we do with
it?" asked Dana. "I know", replied Melanie. "How about a matching
handbag?" so they made one. Well everybody loved it so much they
decided to make more. Now you to can have your very own Original
Each Seatbelt Bag is lined with genuine flight satin, used by the US Airforce to make flight jackets and sewn with NASA certified thread (yes, that NASA). Bags feature either a magnetic snap closure or a YKK zipper and many bags feature chrome feet imported from Italy. Made of the same seat belt you use to protect your life.
They started making them in our one car garage in California but quickly outgrew it. They have since expanded to a 12,000 ft2 design studio in Santa Ana, California where every SEATBELTBAG is lovingly Built in the USA to exact specifications.
They are committed to producing a bag of superior quality using the finest and most durable materials available. Never satisfied with the status quo, they are constantly adding new colors and styles.
HARVEYS joined MADD this month at their national convention in Anaheim CA. HARVEYS has supported MADD since 2003 and this year we were recognized with an award for our contributions and efforts to stop drunk driving. Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry, who is the MADD National spokesperson and a HARVEYS fan visited the HARVEYS booth and hundreds of people turned out to take a picture with her.
To support MADD check out our MADDbags at seatbeltbags.com. Harveys donates $25 for each bag sold.
