Our friends at Automotive.com always seem to have their finger on the auto industry pulse. And this week they are right on top of things with their post on marketing to the dominant shopper: Women. The facts came from Marti Barletta of TrendSight, who says that "women are the decision makers for over 80 percent of any major household purchases. This includes cars, where 60 percent new car buyers are women."
Marti Barletta is popping up all over the place, sharing her wisdom on the female consumer. The Car Blog discusses whether or not it was women who led to the rise of Toyota and Honda. These two manufacturers seem to get what women want: safety, reliability, interior design, and environmentally-friendly vehicles. Check out Martha Barletta's new book Marketing to Women: How to Understand, Reach, and Increase Your Share of the World's Largest Market Segment
