Shopping for a "Green Car"?

Honda_civic_ngv Green-minded Los Angeles shoppers searching for an eco-friendly vehicle can save time - and gas - simply by browsing the convenient inventory of cars in San Fernando Valley's Galpin Motors Network.

Thanks to a collection of earth-friendly dealerships representing Ford, Honda, Mercury, Mazda, and Saturn, Galpin offers a complete assortment of high-efficiency, low-emissions vehicle choices, from sporty coupes and midsize sedans to sport/utility vehicles. While the typical Southern-California dealership has just a few hybrid selections available, Galpin's family of dealers can offer nearly a dozen eco-friendly options, including Natural Gas,  Hybrid, and PZEV engines, all centrally located in the San Fernando Valley to simplify shopping.

Saturnvuehybrid "Right now, hybrids and zero-emissions gas vehicles are the best possible options for green-minded consumers. Nobody else in Southern California has the ultra-clean selection we offer," says Brad Boeckmann, vice president of Galpin Motors. "Our large network of dealerships can save customers time and gas from having to travel from dealership to dealership to find what they're looking for."

08escapehybrid_tease1 Shoppers can pick their hybrid from a full range of offerings, including:  Honda Civic sedan, Saturn Aura Sport Sedan, Saturn Vue Greenline SUV, Ford Escape SUV (in 2WD and 4WD), Mercury Mariner SUV (in 2WD and 4WD), and Mazda Tribute SUV (in 2WD and 4WD). Emissions-efficient shoppers can also opt for an ultra-clean-burning natural gas Honda Civic sedan, the Zero-Emissions Ford Focus coupe or sedan, or four- and six-cylinder Honda Accord sedans. If you have a connection for E-85 ethanol fuel, Galpin can also offer you a selection of flex-fuel ethanol-capable vehicles, including the sturdy Ford F-150 truck, and luxurious Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans.

Askpatty_begreen The Galpin Family has long established its legacy of being green: Company leader Bert Boeckmann was honored by Ford in 2001 as a "Hero for the Planet" for his commitment "to make the world a better place to live, locally and globally." Galpin dealerships reduce their impact on the environment by utilizing low-energy lighting in their showrooms and service centers, and employ a fleet of electric vehicles for shuttling employees and customers around their lots. Additionally, Galpin Auto Sports can modify any vehicle to be more eco-friendly, as demonstrated by recent project vehicles such as the eco-friendly biodiesel-powered Bio Rocket '65 Impala, and the Ford F-450 "Bio-Hydro" showtruck that made its public debut at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show. The truck's experimental engine runs on bio-diesel and hydrogen, emitting only water vapors, and the interior is constructed with recycled materials.

"We have a strong history of doing the right thing for the environment," said Galpin president Beau Boeckman. "In 1980, we opened the first Methanol fuel station, and when they were for sale from 1996-1999, we were among the nation's top EV-1 dealerships, and even offered electric charging stations, as well."

If you're interested in shopping their eco-friendly collection, you can visit their showroom at 15505 Roscoe Blvd. in North Hills, California, or visit the company website at www.galpin.com.
